San Francisco-based Almanac Beer Co. has introduced a new range of year-round brews in cans. Produced and canned in partnership with fellow San Francisco brewer Speakeasy Ales & Lagers, the lineup includes Almanac’s Craft Pilsner, Mandarina, San Francisco IPA and Saison Dolores. The four beers will be available in six-packs of 12-ounce cans, as well as on draft, throughout California by mid-summer, with further market expansion to follow. Established in 2010, Almanac is also known for its Farm to Barrel series, which features barrel-aged ales produced using fruit from local Northern California farms.
Boise, Idaho’s Payette Brewing Company is adding to its year-round canned lineup with the launch of Blood Orange Rustler IPA. Blood Orange Rustler (6.2% abv) is brewed with Centennial, Chinook and Columbus hops, with blood orange added during the fermentation process. It’s currently available on draft in Idaho, Oregon and Washington, and will be available in six-packs of cans beginning this month in Idaho, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming and Montana. Payette offers six year-round beers in addition to seasonal releases and its specialty series.
Clifton Park, New York’s Shmaltz Brewing Company is rolling out Bock Bock, an imperial American bock lager aged in Bourbon barrels. Brewed with oatmeal and rye with European and Pacific Northwest hops, Bock Bock (9.2% abv) is aged for 11 months in first use Jim Beam and Wild Turkey barrels. It’s available in 22-ounce bottles and limited draft amounts throughout the month of June. Bock Bock is the latest addition to the brewer’s barrel-aged series. Other offerings from the series include Funky Jewbelation, Chanukah in Kentucky and RIPA on Rye.
Longmont, Colorado-based Oskar Blues Brewery is launching a new wheat beer, Priscilla White Wit Wheat, in cans nationwide. The 5.2%-abv offering is inspired by Belgian class wit beers and features orange peel and coriander spice. It was previously available only on draft at the original Oskar Blues Grill & Brew in Lyons, Colorado. Priscilla White Wit Wheat will be in distribution this month in six-packs of 12-ounce cans and on draft.
