GSN Review: Pendleton Blended Canadian Whisky

Pendleton_750mLPendleton Whisky is an oak barrel-aged whisky distilled in Canada and brought to proof with glacier-fed spring water from Mt. Hood (Oregon’s highest peak). Pendleton Whisky was specifically created to celebrate the bold spirit of independence and hard-work ethic of the American cowboy and cowgirl. Each bottle prominently features the rodeo’s famous bucking horse symbol and Let’er Buck slogan. Pendleton Whisky is the Official Spirit of the ProRodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) and the presenting sponsor of the All American ProRodeo Series, which includes 400-plus PRCA rodeos.

Pendleton Blended Canadian Whisky (80 proof)
Visual: Aging copper.
Nose: Light and with the typical Canadian grassiness. A subtle and refreshingly breakfast cereal style whisky.
Taste: Ultra smooth and lovely.  Light and toasty with a hint of honeyed sweetness offset by a tannic char.  Yum.
Finish: Medium long with a more aggressive finish than the initial approach would indicate.  More character and body come onto the playing field as time goes by.
Overall: I have to say, this has become one of my favorite whiskies and is easily one of the top ten blended Canadian expressions available today.  This is a whisky that should be on every back bar.
GSN Rating: A
