GSN Review: Belle de Brillet Pear Liqueur

bdb_pear_and_cognac_btl_417Belle de Brillet Pear Liqueur is a blend of three ingredients. Brillet Cognac Eau de Vie produced in the heart of the Cognac region, essence of Williams Pears (Poires Williams) produced mainly in the east of France, and a “special plus,” an ingredient whose secret is guarded by Maison Brillet. Presented in an elegant pear-shaped glass container, about twenty pounds of pears are required to produce each bottle.

Belle de Brillet (60 proof)
Visual: Golden amber.
Nose: Spiced pear low notes and grape distillate high notes. Dry and slightly peppery.
Taste: Medium sweet with a fresh pear flavor that is distinct and clean. A round and warm mouthfeel that is refreshingly well-balanced. The overall effect is one of a dessert or ice wine.
Finish: Fairly long with lingering sweet pear.
Overall: A really nice liqueur for sipping neat out of a snifter after dinner. Also, an excellent liqueur for use in cocktails. Recommended.
GSN Rating: A-
