GSN Spirited News: January 21st 2020 Edition

Miami-based Tropical Distillers has partnered with Republic National Distributing Co. (RNDC) for exclusive distribution of its J.F. Haden’s Mango Liqueur in Florida. J.F. Haden’s is at 40% abv and initially rolled out to about 100 locations in South Florida last fall, with the new partnership with RNDC expected to increase its distribution throughout the state. The first product from Tropical Distillers, J.F. Haden’s is suggested to replace Triple Sec in Margarita cocktails, among other serves, and retails for $30 a 750-ml.

Boston, Massachusetts-based Latitude Beverage is rolling out Wheel Horse Rye, a new Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey. The 50.5% abv rye is distilled from 95% rye and 5% malted barley before aging for two to three years. The whiskey is made at Owensboro, Kentucky’s O.Z. Tyler Distillery and will be available in the Northeast, Colorado, California, and Illinois for a suggested price of $28 a 750-ml.

Nevada’s Frey Ranch Distillery has launched its first Straight Bourbon whiskeyThe 45% abv spirit is distilled from a mash of corn, winter cereal rye, winter wheat, and two-row malted barley, all grown on the Frey Ranch farm. Master distiller and crop adviser Russell Wedlake distilled the ground-to-glass whiskey with assistance from Colby and Ashley Frey, who own the farm and founded the distillery. Frey Ranch Straight Bourbon Whiskey retails at a suggested price of $50 a 750-ml. It’s currently available only in Nevada but will launch in California in the spring.
