Milton, Delaware-based Dogfish Head Brewery is launching Hazy-O IPAThe new release is distinguished by using oat milk as part of its mash along with malted, rolled, and naked oats. The oat milk adds a creamy smoothness to the brew more akin to a milk stout, according to Dogfish Head, contrasting with the tropical hop flavors that come with being a hazy-style IPA. The result of nearly a year of R&D, it’s at 7.1% abv and is rolling out nationally in 6-packs of 12-ounce cans now.

Pottsville, Pennsylvania-based D.G. Yuengling & Son is releasing Yuengling Raging Eagle Mango Beer. The new pilsner is at 6% abv and is initially launching in single 24-ounce cans available at convenience stores across Yuengling’s 22-state footprint. They will be priced around $3 a can, while other packaging formats are slated to launch later this spring. Raging Eagle joins other recent innovation plays from Yuengling such as Golden Pilsner, Hershey’s Chocolate Porter, and light beer Flight by Yuengling.

San Diego, California’s AleSmith Brewing has announced that it will kick off 2021 by adding three new beers to its year-round portfolio. First up is Cloud Stream Hazy IPA, a 6.9% abv ale available in 4-packs of 16-ounce cans. The brewery has also released Limeberry Twist Gose, a 4.7% abv lime- and raspberry-flavored ale with added sea salt. The sour beer is available in 6-packs of 12-ounce cans. Finally, AleSmith has added a new session IPA, Kickbackrelax, to its roster. The 4.2% abv beer comes in at 120 calories per serving and is sold in 6-packs of 12-ounce cans. All three are now available across the U.S.

Salt Lake City, Utah’s Squatters Craft Beers has launched a new variety pack for Grandeur Peak Spiked Sparkling Water. The new 12-pack includes the brand’s original releases—Utah Cherry and Ruby Red Grapefruit—plus Mango Paradise and Peach, Grandeur’s newest flavors. All four varieties are made without added sugar, are gluten free, and come in at 4.5% abv and 90 calories per serving. The Grandeur Peak Spiked Sparkling Water Adventure pack is now rolling out to retailers across Utah.

Portland, Oregon-based Cascade Brewing is launching Cosmosaic, a brand new project, and Blueberry 2020, a longtime fan favorite. Cosmosaic is a sour blond ale aged in oak barrels for up to 10 months followed by a late addition of Mosaic hops. It’s at 4.4% abv and packaged in 12-ounce cans. Blueberry 2020 is a blend of sour triple and blond ales aged in Pinot Noir barrels for up to two years with fresh blueberries from the Willamette Valley. It’s available in 250-ml slim cans, 500-ml glass bottles and in draft kegs, ranging from 7.8% and 8.3% abv, depending on the packaging.

GSN Brews News: September 22nd 2020 Edition

Washington, D.C.-based Atlas Brew Works has released Sunny Honey Saison. The new brew was made using honey harvested from Minnesota-based Bare Honey’s solar farms; these farms are unique in that they use pollinator-friendly plants as ground cover around the solar panels in an effort to support the bee population. Nonprofit Fresh Energy provided the honey. Sunny Honey Saison is available in 750-ml. bottles at Atlas Brew taprooms across D.C.

Richmond, Virginia-based Hardywood Park Craft Brewery has partnered with convenience chain Sheetz on a watermelon wheat ale. Officially called Project Watt-Ahh-Melon Ring, it is available for a limited time exclusively at select Sheetz stores in Virginia and North Carolina. Its name derives from the fact that it was brewed using Sheetz watermelon gummy rings. It’s at 5.3% abv and retails for $8 a 4-pack of 16-ounce cans. Hardywood Park was founded in 2011 and distributes throughout Virginia, Washington, D.C., and the Raleigh Triangle area of North Carolina.

Newport, Oregon-based Rogue Ales & Spirits is launching Pineapple Party Punch, a hazy Imperial IPA. Brewed with pineapple and toasted coconut in addition to a citrus-forward hop selection, it is at 8.4% abv and will be released next month on draft and in 4-packs of 16-ounce cans. Founded in 1988, Rogue distributes to all 50 states.

Salt Lake City, Utah-based Wasatch Brewery is releasing Great Deceiver Imperial Pilsner. Named for Satan himself, the new brew is at 7% abv and brewed with German Noble Hops to impart floral notes onto a bready malt backing flavor. Great Deceiver launches this month across Wasatch’s 20-state distribution footprint in 6-packs of 12-ounce cans. Founded in 1986, Wasatch is part of the Canarchy Collective of breweries.

Paso Robles, California-based Firestone Walker Brewing Company is reintroducing its Double Jack Double IPA. Originally launched in 2009 and discontinued in 2016, Double Jack is returning due to popular demand after a brief revival in a variety pack last year. The release is triple dry-hopped after four initial hop additions. At 9.5% abv, Double Jack is now available as a limited 6-pack of 12-ounce cans in all Firestone Walker markets.

Portland, Oregon-based Cascade Brewing is debuting new formats for two of its sour ales. Both Pistil Whipped (7.7% abv) and Sang Rouge (7.1% abv) are now available in 12-ounce cans for the first time. Pistil Whipped was originally brewed for the company’s Sour Flower Fest and features late infusions of saffron and chamomile. Sang Rouge was brewed from 2010 to 2015 and is a blend of sour red ales aged in red wine barrels. The new cans are available in singles or and 4-packs at Cascade Brewing’s Barrel House and Lodge locations in Oregon, and in limited distribution.

Rehoboth, Delaware-based Dogfish Head is launching Re-Gen-Ale in partnership with Indigo Agriculture. Releasing just in time for Climate Week, the brew was produced through the Indigo Carbon program, which provides growers with financial incentives to use techniques that store carbon in their soil. Dogfish Head will also purchase more than the amount of carbon credits needed to offset the production of Re-Gen-Ale. The release is available beginning this weekend on draft and in 4-packs of 16-ounce cans, retailing for $17, at Dogfish Head’s Rehoboth location.

Pacific City, Oregon-based Pelican Brewing Co. is launching a new year-round addition to its lineup. Cape Crasher IPA is a Pacific Northwest-style IPA at 6.8% abv inspired by Oregon’s rugged coastline and Shore Pine forests. It’s available now in 12-ounce bottles, 6-packs of 12-ounce cans, and on draft at Pelican’s brewpubs and other locations in Oregon. Founded in 1996, Pelican brews 40,000 barrels of beer annually and distributes to six states.

GSN Brews News: September 8th 2020 Edition

Ventura, California-based Flying Embers hard kombucha is releasing three new offerings as part of its limited Flight Series. The newcomers include an unflavored Original Essence kombucha, which is at 7% abv and billed as drinking like a white wine, as well as Strawberry Lemongrass (7% abv) and Prickly Pear Heather (4.5% abv) expressions. Distributed to 40 states, Flying Embers also recently extended its range with a line of probiotic-infused hard seltzers.

Portland, Oregon-based Cascade Brewing has introduced Framboise Northwest, a new sour ale made with locally sourced raspberries. The 7.9% abv ale begins life as a blonde ale before aging for up to two years in wine barrels with added raspberries. The beer is now available for local pickup at Cascade’s Barrel House and The Lodge, as well as online. Beginning September 14, Framboise Northwest will be available in 500-ml. bottles and on draft throughout the brewery’s distribution footprint.

Colorado’s Oskar Blues Brewery has launched its latest IPA variety pack, the Pack-o-Bliss. The 12-pack contains three 12-ounce cans each of Oskar Blues’ Can-o-Bliss Citra Double IPA, Can-o-Bliss Resinous IPA, Can-o-Bliss’ rotating seasonal IPA, and Pinner Session IPA. This releases marks Pinner’s return to the brewery’s portfolio after fans on social media requested the brew’s return. The new variety pack is now available in retailers across the U.S. In addition, Oskar Blues’ latest seasonal Can-o-Bliss IPA is also available on draft.

GSN Brews News: August 18th 2020 Edition

Jose Cuervo, the lead brand in the Proximo portfolio, is looking to get in on the action with the launch of Playamar Tequila Hard Seltzer. Made with Cuervo Tequila, the new RTDs are launching in lime and grapefruit flavors reminiscent of the Margarita and Paloma cocktails. Playamar is debuting in an initial six states this month, retailing at $12 a 4-pack of 12-ounce cans. Each can of Playamar is at 4.5% abv, contains 90 calories, zero sugar, and zero carbs, and is free of gluten and artificial flavorings.

Michigan-based Blake’s Hard Cider is rolling out two new flavors, Caramel Apple and Apple Lantern. Blake’s Caramel Apple is billed as a dessert-like semi-sweet hard cider combining caramel sweetness with tart green apples, while Apple Lantern is marries apples with pumpkin and spice. Both are at 6.5% abv. Launching now, the two newcomers will be distributed across Blake’s 15-state footprint in 6-packs of 12-ounce cans and on draft.

Portland, Oregon-based Cascade Brewing is releasing two of its offerings in packaged formats for the first time. Both are from the brewery’s Northwest Sour Ales series and were previously only available on tap at its two locations in Portland. The first is Honey Ginger Lime, which is a sour rye ale aged in oak barrels and foudres for 10 months, at 6% abv. The second is Honeycot, a sour blond ale aged in oak wine barrels for up to 16 months with apricots, at 7.1% abv. Both are now available in 12-ounce cans throughout the brewery’s distribution network.

Rochester, New York-based Seagram’s is launching a new flavor for Seagram’s Escapes Spiked. New flavor Blue Razberry joins Strawberry Blast, Jamaican Me Happy, Citrus Punch, and Crazy Colada in the line-for the 8% abv, flavored malt beverage brand, a spin-off of Seagram’s Escapes. It will hit shelves nationwide in 23.5-ounce single cans in September.

GSN Brews News: May 19th 2020 Edition

San Diego, California-based JuneShine is launching a spinoff to its line of hard kombuchas. Called JuneShine100, the new drinks offer the benefit of containing only 100 calories and 1 gram of sugar per 12-ounce can. While JuneShine’s original lineup is at 6% abv, JuneShine100’s two launch flavors, Pineapple Orange and Hibiscus Lime, both are at 4.2% abv. The new offerings retail for a suggested $15 a 6-pack and are available in select retailers nationwide, with next-day delivery available now in California, Nevada, and New York, with Oregon and Virginia to be added in the near future.

Pabst has relaunched Pearl xXx, a San Antonio, Texas-based heritage beer brand tracing its history back to the late 19th century. The 3.8% abv lager is brewed with Pilsen malt, caramel malt, and wheat, with its package design inspired by the beer’s original packaging. Pearl xXx is rolling out now in Texas, with wider distribution to follow in June.

San Diego, California’s Coronado Brewing has brought back Peach Cruiser for the summer season. The 6.8% abv IPA is brewed with Mosaic, Citra, and Azacca hops, with fresh peach, apricot, and lactose added. The beer is the second release in Coronado’s Knoxville series of limited releases, which first launched in 2018. Peach Cruiser is now available at Coronado’s tasting room, brewpub, and restaurant, and will enter wider distribution by the end of the month. The brew will be available in 4-packs of 16-ounce cans.

Portland, Oregon-based Cascade Brewing is launching Citrus Noyaux 2019. The new release is a sour blond ale aged in oak barrels for up to two years with fresh orange, grapefruit, and lemon peels, as well as apricot noyaux (kernels extracted by hand from the fruit pits). It’s available on draft in Cascade’s two tasting rooms and in 500-ml. bottles throughout its distribution network. Due to Covid-19, the brewery now offers home delivery and curbside pickup ordering options that can be placed through the company’s website, where Citrus Noyaux 2019 is priced at $12 a 500-ml.

Asheville, North Carolina-based Hi-Wire Brewing has a new release called “Donate To Service Industry Workers By Drinking This Beer.” It’s a hoppy session IPA at 5% abv. A portion of the proceeds from every 6-pack sold will be donated to the USBG National Charity Foundation and the North Carolina Restaurant Workers Relief Fund. It’s currently available on Hi-Wire’s website for $11 a 6-pack and in select retailers in North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Ohio. Additionally, Hi-Wire recently released Citrus Wit (4.8% abv), Citra Gose (4.2% abv), and Pink Lemonade Sour Session Ale (4.2% abv), all now available at Hi-Wire taprooms and throughout its distribution area.
