GSN Brews News: August 10th 2021 Edition

Hershey, Pennsylvania’s Tröegs Independent Brewery has announced its latest IPA, Lucky HollerThe 6.8% abv hazy ale is part of the brewery’s Hop Cycle series and is made with Citra, Simcoe, and Galaxy hops. Lucky Holler was developed through the brewery’s small-batch Scratch series before the brewing team settled on the final recipe. The beer is rolling out now and will be available through fall in 12-ounce bottles and cans, and on draft throughout Tröegs’ distribution footprint.

Dallas, Texas-based Deep Ellum has released Hop Seeker West Coast IPA, the first in a new series of IPAs from the brewery. The 7.3% abv ale is brewed with Mosaic hops sourced from the Pacific Northwest and is now available throughout Texas in 6-packs of 12-ounce cans and on draft.

Cigar City Brewing is introducing a new ready-to-drink cocktail, Paper Plane, produced in collaboration with fellow Tampa company Dark Door Spirits. Paper Plane begins as Cigar City’s Citrus Siesta Golden Ale, and then sees the addition of pink and red grapefruit, lemon, and Dark Door’s Ibisco Amaro. It will be available in 4-packs of 12-ounce cans at Cigar City’s taproom and Dark Door’s distillery this month for a limited time. 

South Carolina-based Total Beverage Solution has added Double Dutch Drinks, a line of tonics and mixers, to its portfolio. Double Dutch was founded by Dutch twins Joyce and Raissa de Haas and forgoes quinine in many of its tonics and mixers, which have 20 calories per 100-ml. The brand will be available in select markets beginning this fall with an SRP of $7 per 4-pack.

GSN Brews News: July 27th 2021 Edition

Paso Robles, California’s Firestone Walker has launched Strata Hazy IPA, the latest single hop IPA from the brewery, available exclusively in the brand’s “Crafted Thru Hops” 12-pack. The new brew is made with its namesake hop and comes in at 5.6% abv. The new 12-pack also contains Mind Haze, Union Jack, and Luponic Distortion. “Crafted Thru Hops” is now available across the brewery’s U.S. distribution footprint as well as at Firestone Walker’s Venice, Paso Robles, and Buellton, California locations.

St. Petersburg, Florida-based BarBox has added two new flavors—Margarita and Gin Lemonade—to its portfolio of spirits-based RTD cocktails. The two new additions both come in 1.75-liter boxes, with each containing 14 servings. The Margarita is at 21% abv and BarBox’s Gin Lemonade is at 20% abv. Both retail for around $25 a box and are available in select markets across the U.S. and online. These releases bring BarBox’s portfolio to five entries, also including Negroni, Vodka Sour, and Cosmopolitan.

Tampa, Florida-based Cigar City Brewing is expanding its seltzer lineup with new limeade offerings. The company launched Cigar City Seltzer in January with a variety pack featuring four flavors: Florida Orange, Ruby Red Grapefruit, Meyer Lemonade, and Key Lime, all at 5% abv and 100 calories. They are now joined by Coconut Limeade, Mango Limeade, Cherry Limeade, and Peach Limeade, also all 5% abv and 100 calories. They will be available in a mixed 12-pack of 12-ounce cans beginning this fall across Cigar City’s national distribution footprint.

GSN Brews News: September 15th 2020 Edition

Tampa, Florida’s Cigar City Brewing has announced Jai Low IPA, a new sessionable brew from the maker of Jai Alai IPA. The 4% abv ale is inspired by English ordinary bitters and is made with Amarillo, Simcoe, Cascade, Motueka, Centennial, and CTZ hops. Jai Low comes in at 120 calories per 12-ounce serving. Jai Low IPA will roll out this fall in 6- and 12-packs of 12-ounce cans across the brewery’s national distribution footprint. Cigar City Brewing is part of the Canarchy Collective of brewers alongside Oskar Blues, and Perrin, among others.

Detroit, Michigan-based Atwater Brewery is adding its fruit-forward Pog-O-Licious IPA to its year-round lineup. Initially released as a summer seasonal containing passion fruit, orange, and guava, the brew exceeded sales projections earning a place in the brewery’s core collection. At 6.5% abv, Pog-O-Licious is available in 6- and 12-packs of 12-ounce cans throughout Michigan as well as in Atwater’s Staycation variety 12-pack, where it joins flagship Dirty Blonde and Better Life Choices IPA, among others.

Austin, Texas’ Lone Star Brewing is launching Das Bier Y’all, a seasonal German-style kolsch with peach flavoring. It follows Lone Star’s first seasonal, Rio Jade Mexican-style lager, and likewise honors a tradition that has shaped Texas—in this case its German heritage. It is at 4.8% abv and is now available for purchase in select locations throughout Texas through early spring 2021, retailing for $8 a 6-pack of 12-ounce cans. Lone Star Brewing is owned by Pabst Brewing Co.

GSN Brews News: February 11th 2020 Edition

Tampa, Florida-based Cigar City Brewing is adding Florida Man Double IPA to its 2020 year-round line-up. The beer’s promotion to the big leagues follows several limited releases and a reworking of the recipe to include Citra, Azacca, El Dorado, and Mandarina Bavaria hops to bring out flavors of clementine, stone fruit, and guava. Select markets began receiving the 8.5% abv ale last month and it is now rolling out to Cigar City’s entire 41-state distribution network as well as select international markets. Cigar City is part of the Canarchy Collective of breweries.

Dallas, Texas-based Deep Ellum Brewing Company has debuted Manic Confidence, a new IPA. The 6.5% abv hazy IPA is made with Galaxy, Enigma, Comet, Strata, Citra, and Idaho 7 hops. Manic Confidence is now available across Texas on draft and the brewery plans to release 6-packs of 12-ounce cans by March 1. Deep Ellum is the third-largest independent craft brewery in Texas, according to the company.

Cigar City Brewing has launched Fancy Papers, a new hazy IPA from the Tampa, Florida brewery. The 6.5% abv ale is brewed with Sabro, Idaho 7, and Strata hops, plus English ale yeast for a tropical fruit-forward brew, according to the company. Fancy Papers Hazy IPA is available through March in 6-packs of 12-ounce cans in select markets across the U.S. Cigar City, along with Oskar Blues, Perrin, Wasatch, Squatters, Three Weavers, and Deep Ellum, combine to form the Canarchy Collective of brewers.

Quebec’s Brasserie Lagabière has partnered with Wisconsin-based distributor and importer Brew Pipeline to enter seven U.S. markets. The new partnership will bring Lagabière’s , a 7% abv hazy IPA, and Ta Plus Meilleure, an 8% abv double IPA made with peach and passionfruit, to Massachusetts, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. Following the initial rollout, Brew Pipeline and Brasserie Lagabière plan to add Texas and Louisiana to the brand’s distribution footprint.
