GSN Brews News: April 13th 2021 Edition

Vermont-based Lawson’s Finest Liquids is returning seasonal entry Knockout Blonde across its nine-state footprint. Knockout Blonde (5% abv) is made of a blend of North American malts and Cascade and Centennial hops. It’s rolling out now in 4-packs to retailers throughout Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island. Knockout Blonde will be on the market through April and May, after which Lawson’s will move on to distributing its next specialty beers, Scrag Mountain Pils and Scrag Mountain Pils Salt & Lime.

GSN Presents: “What’s Brewing?” – March 21-25, 2016

terrapin_sound_czechAthens, Georgia’s Terrapin Beer Company is extending its year-round lineup with the launch of Sound Czech Pils. Originally part of its Georgia Theater Session Series from 2010, the Czech-style pilsner (5.2% abv) has been updated with a new recipe and 12-ounce canned format. It’s made with 100% pilsner malt and German Magnum, Czech Saaz and Saphire hops. Sound Czech is available throughout Terrapin’s distribution footprint in six-packs of cans and in half-barrel kegs.

Red-Hare-SPF-5050Marietta, Georgia-based Red Hare Brewing Company is releasing SPF 50/50, a blend of its Gangway IPA and a house-brewed grapefruit soda. Billed as an India Pale Radler, the new brew is at 4.2% abv, higher than traditional European radlers. It’s made with Falconer’s Flight, Chinook and Cascade hops. Red Hare SPF 50/50 will be available in cans and on draft beginning in April. Red Hare’s distribution footprint covers Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama and the Florida Panhandle.

Bells-Quinannan-Falls-Special-Lager-Beer-can-BeerPulseComstock, Michigan’s Bell’s Brewery is adding Quinannan Falls Special Lager Beer to its specialty canned lineup. The 6.3%-abv dry-hopped lager will be available in six-packs of 12-ounce cans this June throughout Bell’s 23-state distribution footprint (it was previously exclusive to Bell’s Eccentric Café). Bell’s year-round lineup includes Amber Ale, Kalamazoo Stout, Lager Beer and Midwestern Pale Ale, among others.

estrella-jalisco-bottle_six-pack-copyAnheuser-Busch is launching a new Mexican brew, Estrella Jalisco, in 10 states this month. The 4.5% abv pilsner beer is rolling out both on- and off-premise in California, Colorado, Illinois, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Washington, packaged in 12-packs of both bottles and cans, 18-packs of cans, six-packs of bottles and 24-ounce cans.

Full-Sail-Hop-Pursuit-Blood-Orange-Wheat-1024x640Oregon’s Full Sail Brewing is adding two new brews, Hop Pursuit IPA and Blood Orange Wheat Ale. Hop Pursuit, a 6.5%-abv India Pale Ale, will be distributed year-round. Blood Orange Wheat, which is 5.2% abv and brewed with a hint of citrus, is joining Full Sail’s Pub Series of rotating brews, and will be available from April through August. Both new offerings will be sold in six-packs, on draft and as part of the Full Sail Trophy Case variety 12-pack.

shortshumalupacanElk Rapids, Michigan-based Short’s Brewing Company is set to begin packaging their craft beers and Starcut Ciders in canned format. The initial canned launch will include Short’s flagship beers—Huma Lupa Licious IPA, Soft Parade Fruit Rye Ale, Local’s Light American Lager and Space Rock America Pale Ale—and hard cider Octorock. The company’s new canning line will be installed this month, with cans expected to roll out to market in April.

doublebeanblonde-01Schlafly Beer is introducing a limited-release Double Bean Blonde ale rested on cacao nibs and infused with a cold coffee toddy. The 6.3% abv brew, unusual for its pairing of a blonde beer with coffee and chocolate, is rolling out on draft and in six-packs of bottles ($10) across Schlafly’s 15-market U.S. footprint.

botanicalipa_lFort Collins, Colorado-based New Belgium Brewing Company has released the latest offering in its Hop Kitchen series, Botanical Imperial IPA. It’s brewed with Bravo, Cascade, Sterling and Willamette hops along with essential oils from basil, sage and juniper. Botanical Imperial IPA (8.5% abv) is available on draft only through mid-April. New Belgium releases a new limited edition brew under the Hop Kitchen banner quarterly.
