Gatlinburg, Tennessee’s Ole Smoky Distillery has launched a new small batch whiskey: James Ownby Reserve Tennessee Straight Bourbon. The initial batch of the 47% abv whiskey is blended from 200 barrels and is named for Ole Smoky founder Joe Baker’s great-grandfather. The charcoal-filtered whiskey is now available in major markets across the U.S. and at Ole Smoky’s Gatlinburg and Nashville distilleries for a suggested price of $40 a 750-ml.

Oregon’s Hood River Distillers has relaunched Easy Rider Kentucky Straight Bourbon with a new look. The whiskey is bottled at 40% abv after maturing for four years. The new packaging was designed by North and features a red eagle on a light tan label. The whiskey is now available in the Pacific Northwest, Colorado, Georgia, and Texas in 750-ml., 1-liter, and 1.75-liter bottles, with the 750-ml. retailing for around $25.

New York’s Harlem Standard has launched two new whiskies and partnered with Fedway to expand into New Jersey. With this move, the brand, which debuted last year, has doubled its whiskey portfolio and expanded its reach; previously the whiskey was available in New York City and select locations in Nashville, Tennessee, and Tampa, Florida. The first new product is a 7-year-old wheat whiskey aged in Speyside barrels and bottled at 50.5% abv. The other new addition to the Harlem Standard portfolio is a 46.5% abv high rye Bourbon.

Ritual Zero Proof, the Chicago-based alcohol-free spirits brand, has launched a new rum alternative. The drink, according to the company, delivers the vanilla and spice of rum without the alcohol. It joins Ritual’s gin, whiskey, and Tequila alternatives in the brand’s portfolio. Ritual Zero Proof rum alternative is now available in select retailers across the U.S. and on Amazon and the brand’s website for $29 a bottle.

Bardstown’s Heaven Hill Distillery has launched a new Bourbon, paying tribute to the founding brothers behind the company. Five Brothers Bourbon is bottled at 45% abv and is a blend of whiskies aged five to nine years. The new release features a picture of the five Shapira brothers who founded Heaven Hill, along with vintage typefaces and a label design recalling the 1930s. Five Brothers will be available exclusively in Kentucky for a suggested price of $60 a 750-ml. and will be featured at Heaven Hill’s new visitor center.

New York’s Barking Irons has launched a new apple-based gin. The 44% abv spirit is made from a blend of apple distillate and neutral spirits, along with a selection of citrus-focused botanicals including orange peel and juniper. The release will be supported with the company’s wider “New York to the Core” campaign, highlighting the distillery’s portfolio of applejack and gin, while celebrating New York’s post-Covid reopening. Barking Irons Gin is now available throughout New York state and on Reserve Bar and the distillery’s website for around $38 a 750-ml.

Beam Suntory has introduced Jim Beam Orange. The new flavored whiskey combines Bourbon and orange flavor and is intended to be served as a chilled shot or in a Highball with soda water, ice, and an orange wedge. Jim Beam Orange is at 32.5% abv and retails at $16 a 750-ml. It’s rolling out to select retailers nationally.

Florida-based Oracles Capital, a wine and spirits brand development and incubation company, has introduced its first offering, an American single malt whiskey. Retailing at $62 a 750-ml., the new entry goes by ASM and is debuting now in New York and New Jersey ahead of a planned national rollout. The liquid is 100% pot distilled whiskey, aged for a minimum of three years, and finished in a Sherry cask.

Oregon-based Hood River Distillers is launching Timberline Vodka, a new brand. Distilled in a dual-column, 2,000-liter pot still, Timberline Vodka is made with grain and 14 varietals of Pacific Northwest apples, then proofed to 40% abv. Targeted to lovers of the outdoors, the brand features three labels that feature a hiker, a skier, and a snow goose, though the product inside the bottle is the same. As part of the brand’s outdoor spirit, it is a partner of the non-profit The Freshwater Trust, which works to preserve and restore freshwater ecosystems. Timberline is now available to purchase at select retailers in the Pacific Northwest, where it retails for $25 a 750-ml.

Baileys has introduced its latest limited time release, Baileys Colada. The blend of Baileys Irish Cream with coconut and pineapple flavors is bottled at 17% abv and retails at $25 a 750-ml. It’s launching nationwide and is recommended to be served over ice, blended with ice, or in cocktails.
