GSN Brews News: September 28th 2021 Edition

Oregon’s Rogue Ales & Spirits is introducing Jam Sesh, a new blonde session ale. The 5.5% abv offering is rolling out in six-packs of 12-ounce cans and on draft, and will be available from September through December. To celebrate the launch of Jam Sesh, Rogue’s in-house band has released its first single on Spotify and Apple Music.

Escondido, California-based Stone Brewing’s distribution unit Stone Distributing Co. has added four new partners to its portfolio. The first is Bomani Cold Buzz, a 5.7% abv cold brew coffee brand that comes in regular coffee and vanilla flavors. It’s also partnered with Inglewood, California-based Crowns & Hops Brewing Co., taking full distribution rights following a temporary relationship that began last year. Third is Tarantula Hill Brewing Co., whose lead and master brewer are both Stone alumni and which is now expanding distribution. Finally, Stone will distribute Villager Spirits’ line of canned cocktails, which include Tequila Paloma, Vodka Mule, Mai Tai, and multiple flavors of Margarita. Other Stone Distributing partners include Societe Brewing, Jiant Hard Kombucha, and Spindrift Spiked.

Lisco Spirits has announced the launch of its new Tequila and seltzer RTD, set to hit shelves in New York and New Jersey in October. The new cocktails come in four flavors—Fresh Pineapple, Luscious Lime, Sweet Mango and Juicy Watermelon—all at 5% abv and with 100 calories per 12-ounce can. All are made from Blanco Tequila, fruit juice, and seltzer, without any added sugar.

Sierra Nevada Brewing has debuted Atomic Torpedo, billed as a juicy West Coast Double IPA. The 8.2% abv brew includes Cascade, Centennial, Mosaic, and Magnum hops and fuses West and East Coast IPA styles. It’s available exclusively in Sierra Nevada’s Hoppy Sampler Pack, which also includes Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Torpedo Extra IPA, and Dankful IPA. 

Comstock Park, Michigan’s Perrin Brewing Company has launched Beer City Rye IPA, a new collaboration with local baker Beer City Bread Co. The 8% abv ale is brewed with American hops and has toasted rye bread from Beer City added directly to the mash. Beer City Rye IPA is currently available at the Perrin Pub with statewide distribution coming soon for kegs and 6-packs of 12-ounce cans.

Texas-based Spoetzl Brewery has launched Shiner 1909, a new beer celebrating the brewery’s 112-year history. The 4.5% abv lager is brewed with 2-row barley, Noble hops, the brewery’s own yeast strain, and water from the same well the brewery has drawn on for a century. The beer is now available nationwide in 6- and 12-packs of 12-ounce bottles for around $9 and $15, respectively. Shiner 1909 joins the brewery’s popular Bock, alongside other releases like Ruby Redbird and Wicked Juicy IPA.

Yuengling is relaunching its Hershey’s Chocolate Porter in bottles and on draft late this month. Rolling out in 22 states, the 4.7% abv brew combines Yuengling’s dark brewed porter recipe with Hershey’s chocolate.

GSN Brews News: January 26th 2021 Edition

San Diego, California’s Coronado Brewing has launched a new hard seltzer throughout the brewery’s home state. The 5% abv RTD comes in three flavors—Tangerine & Peach, Ginger & Lime, and Strawberry Lemonade—with each 12-ounce can having 100 calories and 2 grams of sugar. Variety 12-packs are now available at Coronado’s tasting rooms and the seltzer will enter statewide distribution beginning in February. Six-packs of individual flavors will also be available at the brewery’s tasting rooms.

Comstock Park, Michigan’s Perrin Brewing Company has released Hard Restart IPA, the first release in the 2021 Side Hustle series. The 6% abv ale is brewed with Saphir and Nelson Sauvin hops and the company describes the brew as a combination of traditional lagering techniques with newly developed hops. Hard Restart is now available in 6-packs of 12-ounce cans and crowlers to-go at the Perrin Pub and will receive statewide distribution. Perrin, a member of the Canarchy Collective of brewers, will launch a new beer in the Side Hustle series every other month throughout 2021.

GSN Brews News: December 1st 2020 Edition

Comstock Park, Michigan’s Perrin Brewing Company has launched Call Me Hazy Citrus IPA, the final release in the brewery’s 2020 rotating IPA series. The 7.5% abv ale is brewed with Lemondrop, Citra, Galaxy, and Mosaic hops, and is now available in crowlers and 6-packs of 12-ounce cans to-go at the Perrin Pub. Statewide distribution for the new beer will follow shortly. The third release in the Call Me Hazy series, Citrus IPA follows Juicy IPA and Tropical IPA.

Dallas, Texas-based Deep Ellum Brewing Company has released Deep Winter Golden Porter, the brewery’s winter seasonal. The 7.3% abv brew is made with cold brew coffee sourced from nearby Oak Cliff Coffee Roasters. Golden Porter is available now on draft and in 6-packs of 12-ounce cans at Deep Ellum’s taproom, as well as in retailers across Texas. Deep Ellum is a member of the Canarchy Collective, alongside Oskar Blues and Perrin, among other craft breweries.

GSN Brews News: November 10th 2020 Edition

The Baltimore-based Guinness Open Gate Brewery has added two new barrel-aged beers—Gingerbread Spiced Stout and an Imperial Stout. The spiced beer comes in at 11% abv and is brewed with allspice, ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg; and the brand’s Imperial offering is at 10.3% abv. Both beers matured in Kentucky Bourbon barrels. They will be available for a limited time in 4-packs of 11.2-ounce bottles for around $20. Both will also be available on tap at the Diageo-owned Open Gate Brewery through the holiday season.

Hood River, Oregon-based Full Sail Brewing is launching the first installment in its new Strong Current Double IPA Series. The series will consist of three seasonal releases, beginning this month, and lasting through December, with Wreck the Halls, a hybrid of a double IPA and Winter Warmer brewed with Centennial hops that clocks in at 8.5% abv. Haze of the Gods Double IPA will take over in January and last through April. May through August will be the window for Lazy Summer Haze Double IPA, an unfiltered brew strong on berry and tropical fruit aroma. Like Wreck the Halls, both Haze of the Gods and Lazy Summer Haze are at 8.5% abv. Strong Current series releases will be sold in 4-packs of 16-ounce cans retailing at $10.

Comstock Park, Michigan’s Perrin Brewing Company has debuted two new winter variety packs to retailers throughout the state. First up is Perrin’s Barrel Aged Specialty pack, containing two 22-ounce bottles—one of Perrin Reserve, a 12.8% abv Imperial stout, and one of Malted Milk Ball, a 12% abv Imperial porter brewed with cacao nibs—and a 10-ounce glass exclusive to the two-pack. Additionally, Perrin has released the Winter Warmer variety 12-pack, featuring four 12-ounce cans each of the brewery’s Coffee Latte Ale, Black Ale, and Blonde Porter.

GSN Brews News: June 30th 2020 Edition

Illinois-based Destihl Brewing is introducing a hard seltzer lineup this summer. The 5% abv seltzers will be packaged in 16-ounce cans in a variety 8-pack featuring four flavors: Agave Lime (made with agave nectar and lime peel), Lemon Ginger (ginger root and lemon peel), Piña Colada (pineapple and coconut purees), and Raspberry Lime (lime peel and raspberry puree). Destihl’s new hard seltzer range will hit some Illinois markets by late July, followed by shipments in August to the brewery’s entire distribution footprint of 37 states, plus Washington D.C.

Comstock Park, Michigan’s Perrin Brewing Company has launched a new variety pack featuring its Clear Coast line of hard seltzer. The 12-pack features Strawberry Kiwi, Orange Passion, and Pineapple Papaya flavored seltzers, all at 5% abv and containing 100 calories per 12-ounce can. The variety 12-pack is now available at the Perrin Pub and in retail shops across Michigan.
